Launda is an intuitive app that enables users to remotely control their smart washing machine both within and outside of their home. The app's user-friendly interface simplifies the process of connecting and managing the washing machine.
The Problem
The widespread adoption of technology has led to a rise in the usage of smart appliances, including washing machines. Despite their automation, manual control is still required, causing inconvenience for users as they have to frequently monitor their laundry.
The Question
How can we design an application that enables the user to remotely manage their smart washing machine from any location and at any moment?
Solution
The development of a user-friendly mobile application that enables remote control of smart washing machines, regardless of brand. This app will not only provide ease of control but also offer educational tips on how to best care for different types of fabrics during the washing process.
Discover and Research
I knew that in order to create an effective and successful design, I needed to first understand the industry and the competition. I conducted industry research and competitor analysis. I evaluated four competitors based on their user experience ratings, gaining a deep understanding of the industry and exceeding user expectations.
To consider a diverse range of users and their unique needs in my design project, I created two personas with distinct goals and challenges. By empathizing with their experiences, I identified potential issues and developed solutions to address them, resulting in a platform that met and exceeded their needs
To guide users through the Launda app, a clear and concise roadmap was created in the form of a user flow. This provided a step-by-step guide for users to effectively use the app and helped identify potential issues, streamlining the overall user experience to design a more intuitive and user-friendly platform that met the needs of the target audience.
By creating digital wireframes for Launda app, I could refine the layout and identify potential issues before proceeding to higher-fidelity designs.
I streamlined the wireframing process for the Launda app by including a design system, which Included standardized elements, such as buttons, icons, and typography, resulting in consistent design and a cohesive user experience.
